What Is an Adverb?

An adverb is a word used to modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. For example:

She walks quickly.
(In this example, the adverb quickly modifies the verb walks.)

She walks extremely quickly.
(In this example, the adverb extremely modifies the adverb quickly.)

She is an extremely quick walker.
(In this example, the adverb extremely modifies the adjective quick.)

Action Verb
